Wrong Weather, Wrong Boots

Florida weather don't warn nobody
Left my rain boots on the porch like a dumbass

Left my rain boots settin' right there by the door
Realized it out at camp, ain't goin' back for more
Socks soaked through before the sun even came up
Squelchin' in my regular boots, that's my rotten luck
Sky went from clear to ugly in about four minutes flat
Florida don't do warnings, it just does like that
Hurricane season out here, everybody knows the deal
Except me apparently, standin' here soaked to the heel

Florida gon' getcha when you least expect
Wrong weather, wet socks, prayin' on my gear
Gulf Coast, Space Coast, Panhandle storms, that's the only fear
Wrong weather, wrong weather, out here anyway

Got my fancy optic mounted, cost me half a check
Label swears it's waterproof, guess we bout to test
Rain comin' sideways now, wind pickin' up a fit
Prayin' to whatever's listenin' that seal is legit
Packed in a hurry, left half my bag at home
Only one pair of pants for this whole weekend, alone
If these get soaked or torn I'm huntin' in a towel
Florida weather laughin' at me right about now

My four by four let me down the last time out
Stuck axle deep, had a winch and still had doubt
We are Pew Estate, but even we don't get a pass
But everywhere else in this state it's a gamble every night

Truck better handle it this time, or so I'm hopin' hard
Rain season Florida turns a fire road to a graveyard
Wipers goin' full speed, can barely see the tree line
Storm this heavy, half the camp done called it, packed up, left it behind
But I'm still out here, wet socks, one pair of pants
Bettin' on a waterproof scope and a little bit of chance
This is Florida huntin, this the price we pay
